CURX buys Pantherna to accelerate in vivo CAR-T push

Germany-based T-CURX has agreed to acquire Pantherna Therapeutics, combining two European biotechs in a bid to speed up in vivo CAR-T development.

T-CURX brings a clinically validated nonviral, transposon-based CAR-T platform to the table; Pantherna contributes its PTXmRNA and PTXΔLNP proprietary platforms — the same mRNA/LNP toolkit that powers companies like BioNTech and Moderna's COVID vaccines, now pointed at getting CAR-T instructions into T-cells inside the body.

The companies said preclinical work combining both technologies has already been validated, and the deal is expected to accelerate clinical entry by roughly a year. Pantherna will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary out of Hennigsdorf, Germany, and the combined company will hold 35 employees across a portfolio of 16 patent families. Financial terms were not disclosed.

T-CURX closed a $20.5 million Series A in late 2025 and is backed by Swiss BiomedVC.
